In order to keep the pillows in a good condition, you should use the pillow covers. The pillow covers allow you to keep your pillows clean and fresh. Pillows are something that is used every day and washing the pillows, again and again, can ruin the quality of the pillows but the covers can be very helpful in preventing the pillows from dust and stains.
Waterproof pillow protectors also known as the cases can be found in several different materials like polyfill, feather, and feather/down etc.
Inserting the pillow into the pillow cover can be a difficult thing to do. Most of the people do not think it is difficult because in theory it does not look like a hard thing to do but in reality, a lot of people end up damaging the pillows covers if they are handled in an improper way. If you put a lot of pressure while stuffing the pillow in it that you can easily rip open the zip of the case or the case may split open especially when the covers are made up of delicate fabrics like silks. If the pillow cover has a hidden zip and you stuff the pillow in it in an improper way can also cause the cover to split. So it is important to be aware of certain useful steps that can help you in inserting the pillow in the cover without any difficulty.
Here are some important tips for pillow covers:
- The first thing that you need to do is to check whether the size of the cover is perfect for the pillow. The dimensions of the cover should be measured properly while buying the cover so that you do not waste your time in inserting a bigger pillow into a smaller cover.
- If you have the same size then you should unzip the cover and lay it on the flat surface.
- After laying it on the flat ground, fold it in a half and compress it enough so that you can grasp it in the center and the two sides should be held together.
- The inserts should be squeezed together with one hand and use the other hand to open the cover and very gently pull the cover over the pillow inserts. Keep doing this gently until all of the four corners of the inserts are inside the cover. You should make sure that the insert should be let go gently because if it is not let go gently the pillow can end up expanding against the zipper and seams which can rip the seam or the zipper.
- As you have gotten the pillow insert inside the cover, the next thing you need to do is to use the hand gently in order to straighten the position of the pillow so that all of the four corners are at the perfect corners of the cover.
- Once all corners are at the right place you can easily close the zip of the cover. Do not be harsh with the zipper and close it gently.
By following these steps you can easily put the pillow cover without damaging them in any way. These covers are essential for the very type of bedding. And thus, there are different types of pillow covers and pillow protectors are available in different sizes, shapes, and styles for your convenience.
