Tenerife is renowned for its beautiful weather all year long, and that is why so many individuals are migrating to the gorgeous Spanish island to live the easy life. Although sipping on cocktails at the beach and soaking up sunshine all year long may sound like the perfect life, this island offers so much more.

1. Mount Teide 

When visiting Tenerife, one of the places you absolutely have to visit is Mount Teide, which is a volcano.  The Volcano's sheer size (12,198 feet) is what makes Tenerife the world's 10th largest island. It is a big hit with tourists, however you do need to be careful as it is a protected area.

2. Siam Park 

Officially, Siam Park is Europe's best water park.  For the past six years it has been voted as 'Best Aquatic Park in Europe.' If you have ever been there then you will know how well deserved this award is. It is one of Tenerife's biggest tourist attractions, and is a big hit with locals as well.  The park is in Costa Adeje and if you are visiting the island it is definitely a must see.   

3. Loro Parque

Prepare yourself for an all round fabulous day out and excitement for your entire family.  Loro Parque is world renowned and one of the biggest wildlife parks in all of Europe. It's absolutely a must visit. The park offers a huge number of different species of animals ranging from gorillas and sea lions to parrots and penguins. Be prepared to feel at one with the beautiful nature here and to be absolutely blown away.  

4. Los Cristianos Market

This is the biggest part on the south side of the island.  Almost anything can be found here.  The market is open on every Tuesday and Sunday from 9 am to 2 pm and is a big hit with both tourists and locals.  
Have some fun with the stall owners here. Bartering the prices down is all done in good spirit and allows you to pick up some really great bargains! 

5. Dolphin and Whale Watching 

Booking a dolphin or whale watching tour for yourself is one of the very best things you can do. These tours and excursions last about 2 hours and they depart from Las Galletas, Los Gigantes, Los Cristianos, and Las Americas. Venture off on the coast, and south west of Tenerife to watch the amazing mammals within their natural environments and be prepared to be in awe. 

6. Tabaiba Shipwreck

If you love to scuba dive then you will absolutely love visiting the Tabaiba Shipwreck. Actually this wreck was sunk deliberately in 2006 in order to encourage marine life to live in it. On your dive you can expect to see octopus along with many other amazing sea creatures in and about the wreck. 

7. Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival

The week that this carnival is held is one of the very best weeks of the entire year.  It takes place during the last week in the month of February. Santa Cruz's streets truly come to life.  This Carnival is totally free and the ideal event for your entire family.

8. Bajamar Natural Pools

The best way to cool off after exploring the islands all day long is to visit Bajamar Natural Pools.  The salt water pools are so much fun and you'll feel revitalised after taking a dip. The site also has changing facilities available.  

9. Pirámides de Güímar Ethnographic Park

This park was not discovered until the 1990's. There is a group of very mysterious stone pyramids located here.  There are numerous theories regarding the ‘Canarian Pyramids,’ which date to the 1900s, and there is plenty to explore at the park's Casa Chacona museum.

10. Aqualand

Aqualand is another one of the fantastic water parks on the island. Aqualand is situated in Costa Adeje and features a wide range of river rapids, flues, Dolphin Museum and Dolphinarium which are all on display. It is the perfect day trip for the entire family.
