Best Way to Clean a House

Before you even start the process of tidying up your home prepare a strategy. Once you make a schedule with the correct planning cleaning up is easy. Follow these great guidelines and add your own personalized touches for the best way to clean a house that'll leave your living-space spotless. Oh, and lastly before you start, throw on some music to your liking to help get you into the cleaning spirit! Personally, I like to throw on some old Motown with Diana Ross and The Supremes on my record player before I start tidying-up the house.

Best Way To Clean a House

  1. Straighten up the environment first. As an example stand in the middle of the living room and look around. Any clutter laying on coffee tables, sofa and chairs floor straighten that up. It's important to have all clutter picked up from around the home before you start the cleaning up process. While you're picking up also get a handle on your storage spaces. Closets and areas like guest rooms that accumulate clutter usually have items that can be donated to the local thrift store.
  2. Starting at one end of the home grab your best duster and start dusting from top to bottom. Dust the top of bookshelves, furniture, TV, audio equipment, lighting fixtures, ceiling fans and don't forget to get the cobwebs. Repeat this process all through the home working your way to the opposite side of the house.
  3. Mopping, sweeping and vacuuming floors is the next task at hand. Once again moving your way from one end of the home to the other vacuum rugs, carpets, and mop and sweep floors. Remember when mopping large areas to rinse your dirty mop water every 16 square feet that's mopped. Don't forget to mop bathroom floors and vacuum any rugs in the restrooms.
  4. Polishing and waxing wood furniture also may be needed if it's been some time since the wood has been polished or waxed.

Bathrooms
Start by making sure any bathroom carpet rugs and trash baskets are removed. Beginning with the shower and tub first rinse with warm water. If there's grout to be clean apply the cleaner and let it sit for a few minutes. Using all-purpose bathroom cleaner to spray down everything in the bathroom except for the toilet. With all-purpose cleaner clean the shower walls and door and now also clean grout. Now wipe down all countertops and use a glass cleaner to clean mirrors and polish faucets. After cleaning and disinfecting toilet replace bathroom carpet or mop floor.

Bedrooms
Your sleeping bedroom areas should basically be clean already from the initial dusting and clutter picking up. This is a good time for the bed to get a nice fresh clean pair of sheets if needed.

Kitchen
Starting with cabinets and working down to countertops wipe down all surfaces. Large appliances like refrigerator and front/top of the stove also will need wiping down. Thoroughly clean the inside of the microwave. Scrub and clean sinks with warm water and cleaner. Rinse and wipe dry. Sweep and or mop kitchen floor to finish.

Windows
With a bottle of no streak window cleaner and a newspaper clean all windows. Use the window cleaning spray sparingly and also include a little bit of elbow grease when cleaning the windows for a streak-free finish. Remove any window screens and use warm water and your favorite all-purpose cleaning solution. It's best to use a bristle brush when cleaning the screen and also use a hose to rinse it after it's been cleaned.

That's it, the best way to clean up a house. Now take a step back, look around, you now have a spotlessly clean home!
