Eyelash extension

You've been out there in search of the best eyelash extension glue, you've found it and now you don't know how to store your glue for the best performance? You are not alone. Storing any type of eyelash extension glue is a serious one especially because the storage differs from one brand to the other. In this article, we're going to give you all the information you need to be able to properly store your glue.

Lash Extension glue shelf life

Before we delve any deeper, we must talk about the shelf life of most lash extensions. Most glues will last between 6 months and 1 year depending on the manufacturer.

Most manufacturers create a shelf life of up to one year for their glue but we've noticed that it is not always ideal for you or your clients to keep using the same bottle of glue. This is why we recommend monthly changes in order to get the best results and ensure that you and your clients are getting the best out of your lash extensions.

So now that we've laid down the basics, let's talk about proper storage.

Proper Glue Storage for Your Lash Extensions

Now that we know how long each bottle lasts, it is important to discuss a few items in order to make sure that you're storing your glue properly.

Don't leave the cap open

The first thing you need to know is that it is not recommended to leave the cap open at all times because this will speed up the degradation process. This means that if you're using an open bottle of glue, you're wasting time and money since the glue will only last a couple of days opposed to weeks. This is the same principle that applies when you use any type of liquid in your home. If you leave it open, the air gets into it which speeds up contamination and thus leads to degradation.

Close the lid tightly

After you've used your glue, make sure to close the lid tight and store it in a dry place. The most ideal location is next to where you use it. If this isn't an option for you and your client, then we recommend that you put it inside a cabinet away from light and moisture. Just make sure that the lid is tight after every use because if the glue is exposed, it can dry faster.

Burp' the glue bottles

Another thing you can do in order to make sure that the glue is stable is burped the bottle by squeezing it every now and then. This means that if your bottle of glue doesn't come with a foam pump, squeeze the air out of it every few days before storing it.

Wipe the glue nozzle with a lint-free paper

In order to make sure that the nozzle is free from dirt and contamination, wipe it with a lint-free paper towel. This will ensure that your glue goes on nice and smooth without any obstruction which might cause clumps or uneven lash extension application.

Store in a cool dark place

Your storeroom is a good place to store your glue as long as it is a cool and dark place. You can also use the box that came with your glue if you prefer not to put the bottle on display.

Store in a cool and dry place

It is important to store your glue in a cool and dry place since extreme temperatures can damage the integrity of your product. It is also recommended to avoid storing it in direct sunlight as it will speed up degradation even more.

Keep out of reach from children

Finally, keep it out of reach from pets and infants because if they find the bottle, they might accidentally drink the glue. This is why you should also avoid leaving it on your table during parties because there's always a chance that someone will take it.

If you are not sure about how to store your particular brand of glue, contact the lash extension supplies directly. The company representatives are well informed about all their products and can give you full insight about how to properly store them.
