The painting of a house is not something that can be done at any time of the year. It is in fact essential for the weather conditions to be cooperative. The reason is very simple and that is the paint has to get dried easily and so the temperature does matter. Hence ideally it is the warm and the dry days that would be the best time to choose for painting the house.

Considerations for A Perfect House Painting

The weather is one of the most important factors for House painting and so summer is the best time. This is because this is the period that will be reliably dry and will not bring a lot of rain. Of course, if the weather is too hot, then it might dry the paint very fast and so one might not get an ideal finish. Hence the aim is to find for a time that is neither too hot nor too humid.

What Are Things To Be Avoided?

  1. It is better to avoid House painting during rainy days. This is because you have to make sure that the painting is completely dry. This is important for getting a perfect and even application.
  2. The House painting over an acceptable temperature is not a wise decision. This means that the middle of winter will not be the right time for painting. Since these days are extremely cold, it will take a lot of time to dry and cure.
  3. The painting should be done within the specific seasons as per the regions. If you are in a northern type of climate, then fall would be better whereas in southern areas, it is warm during the early winters.

When And How Often Should Painting Be Done?

Actually there is no specific time period as such that has to be followed for House painting. Each and every house is different but the experts suggest that one should engage in House painting at least once in every five years. This will also depend upon the surface areas like for example:

  • Wood siding; it should be every 3 to 7 years.
  • If the surface is aluminum siding, then it can be every 5 years.
  • The stucco surfaces last for 5 to 6 years.
  • The latest materials like the cement fiberboard can be repainted once in 10 to 15 years.
  • The brick surfaces last for 15 to 20 years and so it can be cleaned occasionally.

Rules That Needs To Be Followed

  1.  The use of materials that are used for House painting needs to be of very high quality. This is because it will last longer and so you must buy a paint that has a lifetime warranty.
  2. The flat finishes are usually preferred for siding and it is the best way to defects and also the irregularities.
  3. The surface that has to be painted needs to be clean as well as dry and not peeling. There should be apt and proper preparation should be taken like washing the surfaces well.
  4. The basic thing is to leave the surface smooth so that the paint does remain for a longer period of time.
  5. The House painting has to be done by using more than one choice of paint. The painters should do the base coat at first, then the first finish coat. The second coat can be applied later.

The main aim for painting the house is to beautify as well as protect the house in an effective and affordable manner. The new paint completely transforms the look of the house and it is best if you can hire a professional painter to do the job in the best possible manner.
