Contingency plans which were put in place to help international parcel delivery companies adjust their services following the disruption caused by the long-lasting Icelandic ash cloud have been praised by Europe’s leading postal services watchdog. PostEurop said postal operators across Europe had done well to maintain close contact with their air, road and rail delivery partners, and collaborate with a view to keeping delays to international parcel and mail deliveries to a minimum.
