  • Life on the Road: My 2 Cents
Life on the road can be both good and bad. It depends on how you look at it. You get to meet new people, see new places and experience new things, most of the time though, it can get real lonely. In my previous job, I had to visit each of our California offices regularly after flying in from the east coast and oftentimes would have to employ airport transportation in La Crescenta, our main office, to and fro from the airport, sometimes using another airport car service in La Canada and back again.

  • The Aftermath of Hurricane Ike in Kentucky
At the start of the month of September 2008, a major hurricane formed around west of Cape Verde Islands. It passed through the Caribbean all the way across the east coast hitting Louisiana, Texas, further inland and all the way up to Canada and left a path of destruction in its wake. It was the third most destructive hurricane to have ever hit the United States after Hurricanes Andrew of 2002 and Katrina of 2005.

  • A Brief History of Modern Welding
The discovery of arc welding, since the 1800s, has been the one of main driving forces in the development of steel and metal production in the industrial revolution. While it is true that forge welding has been employed since the bronze age and all throughout the iron age, arc welding is a much more advanced process involving the use of a power supply to generate an electric arc between an electrode and the material, producing high temperatures in order to melt the material after using metal abrasives for surface preparation of the metal.. Unlike soldering, welding does not consist merely of sticking two objects together with metal glue. Instead it fuses them into one piece, almost as if they were recast.
