Are you in need of some time management strategies to work you legitimate home business opportunity? In today's market, many people are looking for different methods to providing for their families. Many people seem to be seeking out home-based business opportunities because our economy and jobless rate has plummeted so drastically. Working from home appears to be a lifestyle that many dream of because of the freedom to be your own boss. The difficulty is most people who begin a home business opportunity lack the self-discipline and time management strategies to maintain a successful positive mindset for success.

I myself have struggled with my network marketing company while working full time. I do not possess any organizational skills or a whole lot of discipline so it came as no surprise when I struggled to manage my time for both a job and a business. I realized early on that I needed to strengthen certain aspects of my mentality and lifestyle to accommodate for my deep desire to be my own boss. I knew in my heart that this was the direction I wanted to go but I needed someone or something to lead me to the water and then show me how to drink until I could find my way there without an guide.

Many years later, I discovered the three most vital strategies for succeeding in business. As you read on, you will understand why I feel blessed to be able to help others with what I've learned and accomplished.

COMMITMENT ~ Without this, you have nothing. Making a commitment to yourself that you will do what it takes for as long as it takes will be the one thing that will keep you going strong even when you hit a bump in the road. Without a commitment, you will not succeed. I'm sorry to be so honest but the truth is 97% of those who start a business give up within 6 months . More than half of those who quit lacked the dedication it takes in order to become successful. If working for yourself is truly what you want, then never, ever put time restraints on yourself. You have to want it until you get it….period, end of story!!!

STRUCTURE ~ Webster's dictionary defines "structure" as: to give organization, or arrangement to; construct a systematic framework for ~ If you're going to commit to working for yourself, the one thing that will propel you to the top faster is that very definition of structure. Whether you are juggling a full time job, family life, or other responsibility that comes into your life, you absolutely have to have a systematic framework in place in order for you to succeed in a home business. I have learned this lesson the hard way (as I always do) but when I get it, I GET IT! This characteristic was one of the hardest personality traits to change for me. I knew I had the drive and commitment to do what it would take to succeed but I lacked the building blocks for structuring and organizing my schedule .

MAKE THE TIME ~ It's not how do I find the time. There's a BIG difference between those two words. To FIND the time means you will never have the time to make it work….Making the commitment for time each day will produce results because you know what you expect for yourself and will stick with it.
How? Schedule, schedule, schedule!!!! Use your Outlook, a calendar, your iPhone, or a piece of paper, but get it in writing with start times and end times and refer to it often. If you don't stick to the schedule, will you fail? No, it would be impossible to do so because life eventually gets in your way. A schedule is merely a tool to help keep you focused and on task by referring to it often and the electronic calendars are a huge plus.

The first step after you make the time is to figure out how many hours you can commit to each week. You'll make adjustments at first but you'll discover the right amount of time to spend on your business while you juggle your life. Not to sound too cliché but remember you're not running a race; you're training for a marathon. Take care to not burn out too fast when you first start.

WHAT TO AVOID ~ Remember, the time you allot for your business should only include tasks that are income-producing. Too many times, new home based business owners carry out duties that do not produce income. If it doesn't produce income, you are not "working the business". Here are activities you should avoid doing during your pre-determined weekly work schedule|Below is a small list of items that do not produce income and are huge time-wasters:

Emailing
Surfing the net
Straightening your desk
Multi-tasking
Listening to team calls
Attending webinars

Balancing your job, life and a home business can be very tricky. Utilize your time wisely when working your legitimate home business opportunity and commit to these time management strategies and you will have success.
