One of the most frustrating things to watch is to see the systematic oppression of a Big Brother environment break the spirit of another citizen. From constant surveillance to pernicious taxation, the system really knows how to quell the spirits of its citizens. Seeing it in action, you may be tempted to consider trying out another kind of life entirely.
After all, why stay when you can go? Though most people never think of leaving the country where they were born, there is a world of opportunity out there waiting for you. You can try out different lifestyles, different climates, and best of all, different governments.
Naturally, you may be under the impression that it is difficult to move abroad and hard to survive once you are there. You may also be under the impression that other countries are not safe. Nonsense. This is the message that is propagated so that citizens don't question the motivations of their governments in monitoring them, and so that citizens stay where they are out of fear.
Yet nothing could be further from the truth. Most countries are very safe, and often there you will feel safer and freer than you do in your home country due to the absence of monitoring cameras and lurking security officials questioning your every move. Thus, you simply need to take the plunge.
Just pack up and go. Put your items on sale or in storage, and be rid of your house or apartment. Arrange for your mail to be collected by an agency and sent on to your wherever you are (there are dozens that do this, all over the world). Don't listen to those who try and dissuade you and try to keep you as a prisoner of the system.
You will find a world out there where you don't have to take off your shoes at the airport, and nobody cares if you have a smoke in the restaurant. The food is good, not full of processed chemicals and approved supplements, and no nanny staters lurk around telling you not to eat seconds. Health care is a service industry where you are the focus, not a bureaucracy where you are the pest.
Best of all, the governments of some of the best havens for the independent in the world don't give a damn what you do all day or how. You will be free to live life on your own terms again. It's quite a change, and knowing that it is out there waiting for you, why stay where you are when you could go away instead?
