In the dim dark days of ancient history May Day was celebrated as the festival of the Roman Goddess of flowers. In a more secular version, specifically in Germanic countries, it was the day of dancing around of the Maypole and the crowning of the May Queen, which celebrated the centre point between the spring equinox and the summer solstice, or the first day of summer.

That is so long as you do not happen to belong to the 54% of the world’s population that still live under dictatorial governments.

Kava, unlike alcohol, merely makes the drinkers comatose, rather than hype them up. Unless of course they choose to combine it with alcohol.
