More and more teenagers are taking Beginner Guitar Lessons. It seemed not very long ago that parents preferred that their children take up piano lessons because of its sophisticated and classy image. But now, with every teenage gathering in the streets or in their schools, you will find somebody holding a guitar and entertaining their peers with music.

Now, everywhere you go, you see teenagers and adults playing the guitar in front of their friends or with a full audience at bay.

So what is it with guitars? There has to be good reasons for this. Actually, there are numerous reasons why the guitar is currently the favorite instrument of teenagers.

First of all, there's the reason of portability. You can bring the guitar anywhere if you can handle bringing it to your destination and back.

Because you can just swing it over your shoulder (with the covering and strap, of course), the outgoing teenagers love taking it to the beach, friend's house, or any hang out place they have. It's not really heavy, plus, it looks cool especially if you're a guy. It is easy to carry around after beginner guitar lessons.

One other reason is the easiness of learning the guitar chords. Unlike the piano which has many keys, guitars only need some chords to memorize until you can finally play a song.

Because there are only few of the chords to be learned, the guitar can be adequately learned in just a few weeks. However, no matter how easy it might seem, you would still need to practice very hard to master it.

The guitar is one easy instrument to buy. Whatever music store you go to, there are many guitar choices. Whether you like an electric guitar or an acoustic guitar, the choice is yours. And with the designs and colors, it's really tempting to just buy it, instead of choosing another instrument like flute or violin.

But perhaps the most obvious reason why the guitar has such an impact on teenagers is their love of rock music. What instrument is most often associated with rock? Guitar!

Teenagers idolize these people, wanting to be just like them in the future: many screaming and adoring fans following them, awesome musical talent, and most of all - rich as Croesus. Most rock stars can play the guitar or if not, a person in their band does. They think that it's a way to be "in". The guitar is not only popular with rock music, it is also constantly played in pop, R&B, hip hop and many other music genre.

Just compare this to classical music. Which do you think will teenagers prefer? As long as the teenager is listening to music, the tendency is for him to choose the guitar over piano or any other instrument. It's pretty normal for this to happen, because the adolescent stage is the time when people dream about becoming someone famous in the future.

Having this bias isn't too bad either. It's good that a teenager is interested in music, even if it's just the guitar and participating in beginner guitar lessons. At least, they got themselves involved in productive activity. You can't say the same towards other couch potatoes or the teenage gangsters.
