Toyota's new Tundra is powerful. It is a capable hauler and tower, and it's as fast as many sports cars. But does your new Tundra's exhaust need modification? For instance, do you want to hear that V8 rumble or are you trying to get more power?
The new Toyota Tundra comes with an excellent set of exhaust manifolds. They are made of stainless steel, so they're lighter than cast iron and highly rust resistant. They're also an "equal-length" tube design, a feature you usually only find on expensive aftermarket headers. Finally, they have a 4 into 2 into 1 design, which is the most efficient way to remove exhaust gas quickly. This is one part of the exhaust that doesn't need changed.
The next components the exhaust gases travel thru are the catalytic converters. There's really no benefit to changing or modifying these, and taking them off is a bad idea. Today's modern catalytic converter is very efficient and it's legally required equipment. Makes sense to leave them alone.

Fortunately, there are a lot of available aftermarket mufflers available. Choosing one only requires answering a few questions.
First of all, find out if the muffler you like is going to have any "exhaust drone". Exhaust drone refers to the sound of the engine running while your driving at constant speed, like on the highway. Many people prefer not to have any drone, but others are willing to deal with some drone if it gets them a little more power. Second, do you want something that people can slightly hear when you drive by, or do you want something so loud that the neighbors know exactly what time you leave for work every morning? I hope that it’s the former, but if you decide for the latter, look for words like “racing” or “glasspack”.
You also need to decide if you want a single or dual exhaust? In terms of performance, you usually see the best increase by copying the factory system but upgrading the components. On the Tundra, that would be a single exhaust. But since you’re not going to see much of a performance difference either way, dual exhausts do look and sound better, and that would be my suggestion.
Last, what is the best material for your muffler? While stainless steel is lightweight and resistant to rust, a lot of people that live in dry climates don't need it. Standard galvanized or aluminized steel is fine. However, if your climate is wet or near saltwater stainless steel is an excellent choice.
