Who was the man called Jim Rohn?
Jim Rohn was one of the most legendary business philosophers and inspirational speakers of the last forty years. His influence through his business philosophy and motivational seminars, touched thousands of lives throughout the world, including mine. This is a tribute to Jim Rohn, a legend in his own time and a wonderful person.
His influence improved the lives and propelled the careers of other great leaders in the personal development industry like Tony Robbins, Mark Victor Hanson, Brian Tracy and Jack Canfield, to name but a few.

His character and principles
Jim Rohn was very sincere,he was a very real person and he was a man of principled integrity. In person, he was as humble as he was in front of an audience of thousands. He did not believe in shortcuts, just in identifying your dreams and going after them by working hard day by day. For Jim, being successful was the natural result of disciplined daily action: “Success is the natural consequence of consistently applying the basic fundamentals”.
Jim only stuck with the fundamentals and principles. Nothing he taught was new. This plain and humble man presented such an extraordinarily life-changing message in simple and straightforward language. He painted with words and his powerful quotes remain evidence for many of his talent to influence others. One of my favorite Jim Rohn quotes: “Failure is simply a few errors in judgment, repeated every day”, let me recall that we can each change the course of our lives this very day by evaluating and fixing the errors in our thinking and judgment.
Sadly Jim Rohn died on 5 December 2009 after he battled for eighteen months with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Jim’s legacy will be around forever. Jim called everyone he met to be your best in terms of health, wealth and happiness and to use your faith to propel you to achieve dreams worthy of you. He always led by example.
Journey to success
Jim grew up as an Idaho farming boy. At the age of 25, he was a average family man in a personal crisis. He struggled to repay his debt and he had a family to support. It was at that time that Jim met John Earl Shoaff, who became his personal mentor and asked him to change the way he was leading his life. Jim joined Mr. Shoaff’s organization and started to grow in personal development. By thirty-one years of age, the application of this new philosophy turned him into a millionaire.
Jim then continued to share his philosophy and personal development journey with people all over the globe in the form of seminars, recorded weekend seminars, books, audio cassettes and DVD’s. He traveled far and wide in his lifetime to address over 6000 audiences (4 million people worldwide) in the USA, Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa. He touched many more by the ripple effect of those hearing his voice and realizing what is possible for them.
His success started here
Jim joined a MLM company part time. He worked during the day and after hours he worked his MLM business. During the early years Jim build his network marketing business the hard way. Today’s technology to market online was still in the minds of their inventors. He held meetings, invited prospects to the meetings, and had to be creative to find prospects in warm and cold markets. He worked extremely hard and he did everything required to be successful in “old school marketing strategies”. Jim persisted and through his disciplined effort achieved great success.
