When you move house you may well find that it is one of the only times you move certain things in your house. This might include obvious things like your wallpaper or fireplace or kitchen, but maybe includes less obvious things like big bits of furniture or your garden shed. When you finally come to move these things it is not entirely uncommon to find weird and wonderful old things underneath.
Here are some of the strange things found by people clearing out their house.
Dead Bodies
There have been several creepy instances where people have moved into their new home, gone to knock a wall down and found a big pile of bones behind. Alarming as this obviously is, it does not always turn out to be the vital evidence from a murder inquiry stretching back to when the house was first built. Some people that choose to commit suicide have been known in the past to have decided to brick themselves into a wall space and just let themselves die, not to be found for many years.
Bombs
Particularly in London, where World War 2 saw thousands of bombs dropped in a relatively short space of time, people quite often find unexploded bombs in their back garden. Moving house can often see people getting some landscape gardening done or adding an extension which inevitably unearths whatever is under their lawn. The bomb squad will need to be called in to either defuse the bomb, or possibly even blow it up. This may save you digging your garden any further.
Cannabis Seeds
There is a very popular hobby in the UK of collecting cannabis seeds. These are often hoarded and stored in a safe place until the law changes so that it is legal to grow cannabis. As collections can be quite large though, a stash of these seeds are sometimes forgotten about in a secret hiding place and not found until someone new moves into the property and unearths them. Luckily, cannabis seeds like White Widow, need very specific conditions to germinate so you are unlikely to find a forest of illegal drugs growing in your loft.
Hidden Features
By far the most common thing to unearth when moving house, are traditional features that have been covered up by unsympathetic housing developers. What some people may consider to be unusual and ugly old bits of decoration, some people may absolutely love to have in their house. Finds like this are often the most exciting.
