One really needs to take a step back and look at the big picture. I once heard from a successful entrepreneur that there is nothing known as the "lack of time," it's really a lack of priorities. For example, even if a person is busy and tired, he/she still gets up go to work everyday or take time to do grocery shopping each week. Think about what it means if you have more energy to face your everyday activities and happiness, how much more will the quality of your life increase? That is worth going on a 10-minute walk around the block a few times a week.
Anaerobic exercise can be great for results but I believe this mainly applies to those with average to good fitness levels. The only exception is doing a weights session a few times per week purely to help boost or maintain lean mass and a higher metabolism. Otherwise I think the major part of an exercise regime should be made up of aerobic exercises, especially for the first 3 months of starting a weight loss program.
Another benefit of walking is the noticeable reduction of body fat. Walking increases your metabolism and the first thing that you are shedding off is your collection of body fats. This will eventually lead to a significant lowering down of your waistline as it is the fats in that area which are most likely to be noticeably gone. Your body’s improvement will be well-maintained as walking also helps control your appetite.
You have the option to walk at any time when you are comfortable and convenient. But the best time to do so is early morning when you are not busy and you do not compete your walking time with other concerns. This way, you get to enjoy it rather than get pressured by it.
Toddlers especially are always in awe of the things they see. All the more when you expose them to the experience of freely touching, hearing and smelling those which they only see in books. While it is admirable for moms and dads to mimic the different animal sounds, nothing beats the real thing. For most toddlers, leaves are amazing objects. They can go around trying to catch the leaves or expect them to fall from the trees. It is amazing how you can learn from the simplicity of kids. Best bet is, they will grow smarter in a pace you will not expect.
Kids will benefit more on nature walks. Learning would even be more fun and exciting for them and surely, their learning from their nature walk will have a greater percentage of retention than those they have merely learned through memorization or teacher feeding from the classroom. The experience of personally touching and seeing and hearing is the greatest teacher. So, it is safe to assume that a science lesson is most effective when there is an opportunity for a nature walk. There is nothing like feeling the texture of butterflies or hearing the real sound of cascading waterfalls.
