Walking under the shades of the trees with rustling leaves under our shoes is a very idyllic scenario. But not impossible. Nothing is more romantic than an evening walk with your beloved partner. And nothing is more comforting knowing that walking with your partner gives you benefits far beyond the present. The benefits extend to your relationship and to your old age.

There should be no hindrance to taking nature walks. You don’t have to go far. A walk in your neighbourhood is itself a nature walk already. There are many benefits that walking can give us, more when we do our evening walks. We don’t quantify them, we see and feel those benefits right within us. While it’s good to hear other people’s praises, our own sense of self is more powerful than the hundreds of praises we could ever receive.

One of the best ways to keep you fit is through a routine of consistent exercise. I must however emphasize that not all exercise is created equal and that there are certainly efficient ways of exercising and also inefficient ways to exercise. Most people think that exercising with weights is the best way to get yourself into tiptop shape, and while it may be true that exercising with weights is a great way to build muscle tone and definition, cardiovascular health may really be your first concern when exercising. The reason that some stress cardiovascular health over exercising with weights is because having a strong base of cardiovascular health may go a long way to improve all aspects of your physicality especially if you do begin to lift weights.

So what are some general tips to get you started with an exercise program? The first thing that most would suggest doing is running or high paced walking. You don't necessarily have to start out running 5 minute miles and breaking national records, but running is perhaps the greatest exercise when developing cardiovascular fitness. If you find that you are unable to run for any appreciable amount of time than you can always start out walking on a fast pace that you can handle. Once you are able to increase your walking speed you can begin to run in intervals where you might run for 1 minute and walk for 2 minutes. You shouldn't be killing yourself during these interval runs, but rather you should be working just hard enough to tax your breathing.
