Video marketing
Video marketing is a fantastic method of marketing, and a great way to drive traffic to your website absolutely for free. Free traffic, means free leads for your business, which gives you a 100% profit margin. Which is without a doubt is huge incentive for and smart minded internet marketer to look into this method of marketing.
There is a lot more to video marketing than just recording a video and uploading it to a video hosting site, there are many points to consider when looking to create a powerful video to keep your audience interested and listening to what you have to say. In this article I will go over things to consider for the perfect recording.
-Video quality
For optimum viewer experience you want to ensure that you video is of as high a quality as you can achieve. Many use inbuilt computer webcams or standalone webcams, however these don’t always produce the best quality.
I personally use a digital video camera, but you needn’t invest in an additional camera. Most people have a digital photo camera and most of these have a “video mode” function which can produce incredible quality. Also by simply looking at your functions it’s highly likely that you can adjust them to provider a finer recording. The only thing you may need to invest in is a larger memory card to fit all your new recordings on!
-Setting
Put yourself in your audience’s seat, many people don’t pay attention to their surroundings when they record a video, and time and time again I see people sat in a cluttered room or office. Now not only does this not look overly professional, but you are giving your viewer’s distractions, which in turn will take their focus off of you and the message you are trying to get across. So after setting up your camera, look at your surroundings and make sure that they are welcoming and tidy.
-Lighting
This may seem like a very simple thing to mention, but you would be surprised how many people don’t pay attention to it, its little things like this that can put your viewers off immediately, if your room is dull and dark, and your viewer can’t see who is trying to connect with them it’s likely they will lose interest pretty quickly. I tend to do my videos in natural daylight, however if for whatever reason that is not possible, keep yourself illuminated by switching on a few more lamps, or positioning yourself somewhere completely new, get yourself in the spotlight!
-Think before you speak.
Many people find it difficult to remember what they want to say during their videos. Take your time, there is no rush! Before your video, prepare the points that you want to cover within your video, and go over them in your head, plan what you want to say and how to structure your video before hitting that record button. If you fluff what you wanted to say, stop, breathe and go again, you’ll get there in the end.
-Smile
Oh so simple, but often forgotten. When you see someone smile, it’s a natural inbuilt instinct to smile back. So put on a happy face for your audience, you don’t need to be grinning like a Cheshire cat; however a dull demeanour makes for a dull video.
