A principal contractor must prepare a construction safety plan before construction work starts. As our everyday life goes, we must have a plan as a starter in achieving our everyday objectives or goals. In every construction site, there are thousands of construction workers who got minor and major injuries in their job site. Thus, construction is one of those very risky jobs that needs health and safety plan. A construction safety plan can support the primary contractors to manage their health and safety when they are in their workplace.
Consequently, one of the principles for protecting America's workforce under the New Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is to save lives, prevent workplace injuries and illnesses, and protect the health of all America's workers. C. Enforcing the use of safety equipment. Safety protective gears must be worn at all times during work: safety glasses for eye protection, hard hats at all times within the confines of the construction area where there is a potential for falling materials or tools, gloves when handling materials, and safety shoes are necessary for protection against foot injuries.
D. Enforcing safety rules and using appropriate discipline. In every workplace, everyone must strictly act in accordance with the procedures and safety rules governing the site. Being disciplined will result to better result of working. Obedience of the safety rules is a must. Thus, failure in doing so will result to equivalent disciplinary action.
E. On-going training must be provided. Trainings are very valuable in every workplace. Each worker must know where, what, when and how they will do the job. Thus, training for your safety in the site will be prompted for every worker to be educated on how to give value with their health and safety. Records will be maintained for all training sessions with descriptions of topics covered and names of workers trained.
F. Keep the records of health and safety files. - OSHA health and safety facts. All accidents, injuries, or illness must be kept in a file or documentand their causes—and post annual summaries for the required period of time.
Finally, if a job cannot be done safely, it will not be done. No job or no task is more important than the worker's health and safety. Our health is our only capital. Thus, every workplace must ensure its own construction health and safety plan.
