1. Advertisement. Advertising posters are the most common type of posters you see nowadays. You find them everywhere. They advertise everything from rat killers to the best hospitals to go to. Put up posters inviting readers to allow their children to spend the summer in your hostel where they can learn and enjoy different activities.
2. Propaganda. These are posters with a message aimed at influencing the opinions and behavior of people. Governments and organizations, like those that support wildlife and energy conservation, use propaganda posters heavily.
3. Announcement. These types of posters are less common but are similar to advertisement and propaganda posters. Remind the parents or guardians of your guests of an upcoming performance or presentation.
4. Informative. Posters of this category give out information, as the name implies. These posters include academic and research posters. Activity schedule posters and posters of hostel rules also fall under this category.
5. Subject. Subject posters are ones that have a specific subject featured. Examples are posters of movie stars, singers, landscapes, and animals. These are posters that have just a single subject. They don’t need to have any text explaining the image. For a dance and gymnastics school, an image of the perfect back layover could inspire your students to practice harder. Motivational and inspirational posters may also be added to this category.
