Bone Cancer is found in around 2000 people every year in United States only, and according to the doctors the number is growing every day. The saddest part is that it is found to occur mainly in the children. There are two types of bone cancer called Primary bone cancer and secondary bone cancer. Let us first look at the two primary types of cancer,
1. Primary bone cancer: Primary bone cancer is that which means the cancer has just now originated in the bones. It is generally in the hard bone tissue and is found rarely among patients of bone cancer.
2. Secondary bone cancer: secondary bone cancer is also called metastatic bone cancer. It is started in another part of the body and then is transformed into bone. Many types of cancer can be spread through this like lung, prostate, thyroid and breast. This type of bone cancer is rather common and is found in almost all age groups. This type is also significantly different from the primary type of bone cancer.
Let us now look at some of the types of bone cancer,
1. Osteosarcoma is one of the commonest from of bone cancer. It is commonly found to affect people within the age group of 10 to 25. There is a survival rate of 65% people for the time of 5 years.
2. Ewings Sarcoma: this is a type of most violent bone tumor that affects more number of younger people around the age group of 4-15. The chances for 3 years survival are around 65%.
3. Chondrosarcoma is the second commonest form of tumor and is found amount 25% of the tumor occurring in the human body. It is found to happen around 40 years’ age old people. Chondrosarcoma is found to affect mainly the bones in the hips and the pelvis area. Males have the chances to spread it to the lungs and the lymph nodes.
4. Other than these three fibresarcoma and chordoma are rarely found bone cancer types.
Both Primary bone cancer and secondary bone cancer have various types that are found very rarely among human. In general these are the types and these are known to affect the male people than the female. The worst part of this type of cancer is that this has the highest survival chance of 6 years. Smoking and drinking can also be extreme reasons for this and hence a healthy living is a must obviously to stay away from this fatal disease.
