There are 2 fattening foods that the majority of us eat on a regular basis, but unfortunately, they are also two of the most fattening foods around.
Most people believe that these two foods are healthy, but unfortunately that is not always the case. You should definitely consider dropping these foods from your diet if you want to loose the belly fat, or at least dramatically cut them back.
The first food type is wheat products... often falsely believed to be healthy for you.
This includes most breads, cereals, pasta, muffins, bagels, crackers, and so on. This also includes "whole wheat".
It's not widely known, but a large percentage of the population has some degree of intolerance to the gluten in wheat and some other grains. Full blown celiacs are the most sensitive to it, but what most people don't realize is that the human digestive system was never meant to eat large quantities of wheat. Our digestive system has never adapted to the large amounts of wheat in our everyday diets.
Its only in the last couple thousand years that wheat has been introduced into our diets, and it has only been in the last 80-100 years that its been in such large quantities. You might be thinking.. "what is he going on about?", a couple thousand years is not exactly a short period of time right, but when you think about it, this is a small time frame compared to the traditional diet that the digestive system has developed over several hundred thousand years, living off a hunter-gatherer diet of meats, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds.
In my experience, when you cut wheat from your diet, even for only 2-3 weeks, you will start to notice a huge difference. Not only will you feel much healthier, but you'll start to lose weight, and fast. When I first tried it, not only did I start losing body fat fast, but I also noticed a huge life in my overall wellbeing. All those little headaches I used to get, and indigestion pains, they all seemed to disappear. I even know someone whose skin problems seemed to clear up after eliminating wheat from their diet.
The second example of fattening foods that we consume on a daily basis, which will really shock you because it's thought of as healthy... Fruit Juice.
Don't get me wrong, I love fruit, and fruit is one of the healthiest food groups there is. However, we were NOT meant to separate the juice from the rest of the fruit and only drink the high calorie sugary mixture, leaving behind the fiber and other beneficial components of the fruit.
When ever you drink only the juice of fruits, for example.. orange and apple juice, which are two of the worst culprits, you are not getting the appetite satisfaction effect from the rest of the fruit itself, and guess what.. you're left craving more carbs. Not only that but the fiber from the fruit itself helps to slow the blood sugar response when eating whole fruit compared to fruit juice.
The bottom line is, over consuming fruit juices can make you fat. On the other hand, eating whole fruits including all of the fiber, can help you maintain a healthy balanced diet, provided of course that the rest of your diet consists of whole unprocessed foods as well.
