Traffic generation is often thought to be an expensive thing to do. However, if you do it right and know the method available, you can also do it for FREE and it can sometime be as effective or more effective than those paid advertisement.
The following are some of the tried FREE marketing tactics that i have used throughout all these years of internet marketing career and one of it almost contribute to 80% of all the traffic i have generated to my site.

The best part of this method is that it can bring you long term traffic as your articles will be on the directories for several years and you will be amazed that you still have visitors that are brought by those articles that you have written quite some time ago.
2) Traffic Exchange: This is the kind of traffic generation that allow your website to be shown to those surfers of the traffic exchange program in exchange for credits. The best part of this method is that it gives your website more exposure by displaying your ads to various surfers around the world. However, you must know which traffic exchange programs are good and which are bad. When i first started, i spent months on several traffic exchange programs but most of them did not even get me a lead. Only a few of those good and more well known traffic exchange programs that manage to bring me some leads. Note that most of the traffic exchange program are free to use. All you have to do is to surf and look at others advertisement for credits to place your ads
3) List Building Program: This is the kind of traffic generation method that gives you more leads if you referred people to their service. The more people you recommend, the more leads you are given. The best part of this service is that it is free and those leads are mostly people who are interested in this industry. Thus, it can gives you leads that are more qualified.
No matter which method you prefer, do take note that you have to track your ads every now and then so that you can outline which method are useful for you and which is not and can be removed. For me, i only keep those methods that can gives me at least 20% of my leads and removed those that do not performed.
