One of the few laws regarding Antarctica involves the prohibition of nuclear weapons tests and explosions.
The laws that govern the environment of Antarctica are the most rigid in the world. The animals that were killed a century ago by whalers and sealers can now only be killed if a special license is gotten. Antarctica is home to the scientific motherlode: a strictly peaceful place to perform scientific research that benefits all of us.
