Using raised beds
This is a big one because of the HUGE benefits it provides you. Yes, it initially requires more work to get started but raising your beds (making piles of dirt in rows) will allow the soil to more easily take in water, air and nutrients while making it easier to manipulate and till.
Know your growing seasons
For most gardeners their season is over once summer comes to a halt, however just because the hot weather is gone doesn’t mean your gardening days are over.
There’s a huge variety of fall gardening plants which are usually easier to grow due to less competition from insects, less weed growth and depending on where you live watering may be unnecessary.
Going organic
This is a really big one which has become somewhat of a craze. Everyone seems to be doing it and we see the words on everything from cosmetic products to our food.
All though it’s a hyped up marketing craze there are definitely benefits to growing organic plants – disease immunity, better tasting and they add to the composure of soil.
