Widely regarded as the the north's unofficial capital, Leeds is a lively place. it has a large population of almost 450,000. in addition to its multitude residents, Leeds also attracts many business visitors and tourists.

Many industries have contributed to Leeds' riches, but the city is especially famous for its clothes trade. There are some famous names associated with the city, which contain Thomas Chippendale who began making his famous furniture there, and Michael Marks - of m and s - who started his earliest Penny Bazaar there in 1884.
As well as this, it is also home to the historical Kirkgate Market. The market is Europe’s 2nd largest indoor market after Leicester and is open 6 days every single week. There are over four hundred stalls inside the market and a further two hundred outside. It attracts over 100 thousand visitors per week.
Kirkgate Market was established in 1822 as an open air market and the earliest inside bits were built between 1850 and 1875. Unfortunately, much of the building, except the Vicar Lane frontage, was destroyed in a 1975 fire. however, the Market was refurbished in the early 1990s and following this, Kirkgate Market was upgraded from a Grade II to a Grade I listed building.
Leeds boasts a exciting shopping centre, which boasts a shop that are suitable for any funds. in fact, you'll find high end shops in the city's Victoria Quarter, containing branches of harvey nichols, Flannels & other designer shops.
