No matter what type of party you are having there are certain things that are required in order to prepare. Some parties are more extravagant than others and often take weeks, months, or even years of planning. Regardless of whether they are thrown together at the last minute or have taken years to prepare, each party is unique within itself but yet still maintains some of the same elements of other parties. So what are some essential planning elements to get ready for these parties?
Food
For me, food is always a deciding factor as to whether or not I will be attending a party. Some parties don’t have food and I find that a shame. Honestly people, a way to get people there is to tell them there is going to be delicious free food. I have always seen this work in the past. People enjoy eating and socializing; as it’s a part of every culture. So deciding on what food is going to be served is a huge decision. You could take the easy but more expensive route and have someone cater it. Or you could tell everyone to bring one of their favorite dishes; which is fun to do because you get more of a variety and it often seems to be more scrumptious when it’s homemade. You also can’t go wrong by keeping it simple and having appetizers or hors d'oeuvres. You may even want to know if anyone is on the HCG diet as their food needs will be different to everyone else’s.
Beverages
This is also another important factor. The old BYOB (bring your own beverage) method seems to work well. You just need to make it clear to people if you intend on having this be a “sober” event. There are several different routes you could go with this one. If you do intend on having no alcohol, depending on the type of get-together, you could have iced tea, lemonade, coffee, fancy sodas, sparkling water, and so on. If you decide to have alcohol you could serve beer, wine, margaritas, bloody marys, mimosas, and the list goes on. If do have alcohol, be sure your guests can crash at your pad or they have designated drivers. You may want to make sure you have room for everyone that way you don’t wake up and find that you your friend fell asleep on the pool heater.
Entertainment
If you want to show off your recently purchased plasma television, then making sure that you have the universal mount for it is crucial. No need to worry, if television is not a form of entertainment for you; you could hire a band or a comedian. It’s always nice to support local acts so see who in your area is doing that sort of thing. If it’s a children’s party you could hire a clown, someone to paint faces, a gymnast, and so on. It all depends on the type of party that you are throwing and who will be attending it.
Every party differs from the next, but these factors tend to stay the same when planning for one. So go on, be bold and throw a party. You never know, you may actually have people show up and have a grand time.
