Just about anyone during the course of their life is challenged on how to make money on the side. Most recently due to the explosion of the internet that challenge has become easier to overcome.
But it's still a challenge unless you have some ideas and know what to do. Here's one to get you started.
Blogging and social networking have allowed the average person to turn basic conversation into a money making proposition. Just about everyone has something they have a passion for. On the internet there are millions who share that same passion.
Through a blog or social networking sites you now have an opportunity to connect with all those people. Imagine being able to "talk" with others worldwide about things that nobody at home seems to have an interest in!
Better yet you can turn those conversations into a way to make money on the side by promoting types of products that interest those you're conversing with. You do this through links. Most social forums allow you to create a signature link at the footer of your forum postings. Through this link you can then direct your readers to any relative products you're promoting. You can easily set up your own website or blog site to feature these products. Many websites can be built by experts fairly cheaply today and many blogs are free.
You may prefer to not start a website or blog. Millions of companies offer affiliate products which allows you to promote their products without having your own site. You are given an affiliate link that you place in your social networking conversation. When the reader clicks on the link and it takes them to the company's website. That link is made up of letters and numbers which make up a special URL code. Included in the code is information about you which enables you to get commission for any sales that come from your link. So obviously the more forums you participate in and the more people you make contact with the better your chances are for sales. It's imperative though that you're conversing with the right audience to match the products you're promoting.
You also want to think about your costs when considering how to make money on the side. By offering products of other companies you won't have any shipping costs to deal with. The products are shipped directly from those companies to your customers.
However, if you do have your own product or service to promote you can also do that through the social networking sites. You are then in total control of how much you can earn.
If you utilize affiliate marketing you will average making 50% to 60% of the retail price of the product you're promoting. Not bad for just doing a little promoting while talking online!
