For me, fashion has always been part of who I am, an area of my personality that is visible to whoever looks my way, inspiring for anyone who appreciates it, and an aspect of me that can often make me feel vulnerable and ashamedly paranoid.
My interest in fashion came up against a brick wall recently however, when I watched a documentary on the hundreds of sweatshops scattered around India and other less affluent countries where sweatshops are also common.

When I realised that most of my favourite clothes came from these sweatshops and the suffering that went behind making me look stylish it deeply affected my attitude to fashion.

I also became aware of the affects that the fashion industry have on the environment. Lack of sustainability and damage via harsh chemicals and heavy crop farming.

Luckily for me all was not lost and as I have discovered a rapidly expanding market of stylish on trend collections which not only originate from sustainable sources, but are fair trade and recycled.

A company which has become a regular favourite of mine is http://www.untouchedworld.co.uk. They use durable organic materials which can be recycled. They use nature as an inspiration and take raw materials and combine them with modern technology to produce high performance, ethical luxury fabrics such as Organic Mountainsilk.

I love the fact that i can stay looking modern and chic without the guilt and the quality is much better than the clothes I wore in the past.
