Have you ever wondered if you should receive some kind of online mentoring or guidance? Chances are that if it's been quite some time since you have, or never have had at all, you are probably missing out on potential income.

There's a reason people in many professions have to continually go to school and learn the newest techniques. Doctors do it. Mechanics do it. Teachers do it. It's actually pretty common.

You have to keep up with what's going on in your industry or you'll fall behind and may end up making crucial mistakes. It may not only cost you money but it could also cost you your business.

Here are some questions to ask yourself to help decide whether you should pursue more education and online mentoring:

- Do I believe there is untapped income potential in my business?

- Do I believe that in order to make necessary changes to my business I need to make some changes to my thinking and behaviour?

- Do I feel that at times the business is running me instead of me running the business?

- Could my business benefit from more effective strategies for planning, marketing and selling?

- Could I benefit from some objective online mentoring and coaching to help me stay on track with my goals?

- Am I working too many hours for what I'm receiving monetarily?

- Would my business grow if I invested more time and some money in self development as a business owner?

- Is it possible that some of my current assumptions, beliefs and strategies, etc. may be holding me and my business back?

- Do I work too much "in" my business and not enough "on" my business?

- Do I spend too much time on non-productive things that add value to my business?

- Would it benefit me to learn how I should be spending 80% of my time; and eliminating things that I currently believe are important?

I would guess you probably answered yes to more than half of these questions. And unless you are a very studious type that has made the time to keep up with your industry's changes then you already knew that you could use some further instruction and mentoring.

The good news is there are many beneficial and competent Internet membership sites and programs to tap into. You will need to decide how much time you can give and what your financial budget is for additional training.

In deciding what your limits are just remember that if you're currently "not up to code" you are probably losing more money than you'll ever need to spend on training. In other words, don't skimp. Do as much as you can do.
