I am fed up with being in debt up to my eyeballs and want to gain control over my finanicial life. This is why I have decided I am going to be debt free by April 2009.

Getting rid of $72,900 worth of debt is not going to be a easy undertaking, my husband makes a very low salary already and I am a stay-at home mom of three children.

Even more, my husband is losing his job in July 2007 after being diagnosed with severe epilepsy, which cannot be stopped with medication.

We also have our fourth baby due to be born that same month. Even with all this going on, we are determined and motivated to make our debt free goal happen.

Our debt work off plan is to earn an income online through legitimate work at home companies. I have found a few great ones so far and have been able to start a decent income, which I plan to increase over the next couple months.

It does take a lot of work to be develop a workable plan at making money online, I am devoting a lot of hours because we are left without a back up in our lives right now.

When my husband gets laid off work in July 2007, we are moving in with his parents while we pay our debts off and work to save some money for a home for our family. My husband has decided he is going to do as many side jobs as he can to supplement our income and clean up our debt mess.

Our passion to be debt free is very powerful, even to the point that we are willing to work like crazy and deny ourselves all the unnessecary extras of life that a lot of people like to enjoy.

We have no cable television, we never go out to eat, we only buy clothes for our children when they absolutely need them and we never buy clothes for ourselves.

We do not to go out to the movies, order pizza or go anywhere that costs money. Our children do not get any new toys or games. Unless those that come as gifts from grandparents.

I do not want to sound like we deprive our children. We do free activities with them so they have some fun, we like to go for walks and play at the park.

We do not make any expensive meals. The staple of our diet consists of beans & rice and other low cost meals such as pastas, baked potatoes, and vegetable stir-fry.

We got ourselves into debt, so it is our responsibility to work ourselves out of it. We have to sacrifice in order to meet our debt free goal.

I invite you to read our progress as we work ourselves out of debt and towards financial independence. Any advice or inspiration that can be provided will be extremely helpful to our plans.

I have set up a blog to track our progress towards our goal, which you can visit here- Working for Financial Independence
