Baseball players also will not talk about a no-hitter or a perfect game while it is in progress. They expect the same of fans and it is considered to be extremely bad luck. They tend to think that it will cause the pitcher to fail in the perfect game or no-hitter if it is spoken of before the end of the game. None of the players are supposed to shave until they either win the World Series or are eliminated from the playoffs. Some baseball players and fans say that there is so much superstition because unlike many sports, baseball has more games and many are played in a row. Baseball players often play seven games straight and superstition helps them stay focused and optimistic for their games.
