I have had the great opportunity to live in Washington State for six years. I really enjoy the mild temperatures and especially the beautiful summers. There are a ton of things to do here. There is a lot of water inland so that you can boat and ski, run rivers, kayak and fish. Of course there is the Puget Sound, famous for the Killer Whales, Grey Whales, and Humpback Whales presence.

Cruising in the sound is a great experience and a whale sighting is really cool. The Columbia River flows through the state and affords you plenty of river related activities such as water skiing. There is the Rainer Park which is breathtaking. I have also enjoyed some very good camping around the state. A trip to Lake Chelan or Deception Pass will give you some very nice scenery to take in, fresh air and relaxation to boot. Charters are also available so that you could take a trip to the San Juan Islands which are a great attraction.

The winters here are mostly mild, however snow skiing is still to be had at the area ski resorts like Crystal Mountain, Mount Baker or Stevens Pass to name a few. It is not the absolute greatest snow on earth yet it is awesome to get out on a good day.

Summer means that you can go hang at the beaches. There are plenty of lake side beaches, beaches on the sound, or maybe a day trip to the coast might be what you are after. With the beaches on the sound or the coast it is very calming to sit and take in the ocean air and listen to the pleasant crashing of the waves. You can take a little walk at low tide and find plenty of little sea creatures to entertain you.
