Often during a busy business day, we wish there was some savvy coach or expert that we could consult to arrive at good decisions. We often surmise that we ought to defer to another's skill and leadership. Unfortunately, there isn't always someone at our elbow with sage advice, but there is an Inner Coach inside you with wisdom - and that is your life itself.
Once we become open to unfolding wisdom, it will present itself to us via our business lives by providing the people and the experiences whose arms are carrying full opportunities for us. After all, the person at the next desk, or the manager down the hall doesn't look like a guru, and yet, if we are on the alert, we can see their wise teachings. Sometimes what they show us is "what to do" and often, the lesson is "what NOT to do." Tucked into every interface we have is a lesson. They arrive in all sizes from miniscule insignificance to those of huge impact. Wisdom points to our learning exactly what we need to learn via the lessons presented throughout our day.
Outside of business, we can learn wonderful things from our family and friends. We can learn about patience, about courage, about how to acquire new skills, about what works in a relationship and what does not. You can take the things you learn outside of work into your business life and help it to flourish and prosper.
I find it of great help to remind myself daily of the following:
- My life is my best coach.
- Today, I'll be alert for the lessons.
- I am open to receiving the wisdom from today's lessons.
You may ignite the success you so enjoy and desire more of it if you think about what your life is trying to teach you each day. The administrative assistant who arrives late may be teaching you compassion. The middle manager who drafts an inventive proposal may be teaching you to recognize the good. Being late for an appointment may be teaching you humility and flexibility.
The gift box is seldom empty, regardless of how well or how poorly it is wrapped. You can trust your mind to give you the perfect lessons. Lean into it; it's your inner coach and it provides the best leadership for your life and your business; There's no limit to the number of questions you can ask; be open to hear the answers that your life will provide you.
