So I was watching my nightly sports highlights a few nights ago on NBA TV. It was a sad night because my Toronto Raptors lost to the Milwaukee Bucks, they're better than their record suggests. In the post game analysis Eric Snow and Kenny Smith did an interview with new addition veteran Jerry Stackhouse, who brings toughness and leadership to the young Bucks squad. I happen to love Stackhouse and was upset with the way he was handled when he got minimal playing time in Dallas then shipped off to Memphis to be waived in the summer.

Jerry was talking about how the Bucks pulled out the win and how he felt being back on the court after such a long layoff. One of the analysts asked Jerry what his secret was to keeping in prime physical condition in his lay off from basketball. Jerry's immediate response was P90X. This caught my attention and so I decided to do a little research.

I had heard of Beachbody and their MLM opportunity but just knew the basics. Beachbody was started 10 years ago by Tony Horton. Power 90 Extreme is a three month work out plan with an importance on muscle confusion (mixing up workouts so the muscle doesn't get comfortable) and proper diet. The 90 day workout is split into 30 day periods with focuses on stretching, cardio and strength training. Beachbody also has programs such as Hip Hop Abs and Turbo Jam. These programs are heavily advertised on TV through infomercials.

The Business Opportunity
I first want you to know that I'm in no way affiliated with Beachbody and am not endorsing their products or services. I'm just reviewing their business from an outside perspective.

For $40 you can get your own business and join their team. You can then start to sell programs. To maintain your membership on the team it costs $14.99 per month. Once you receive the business kit you follow the easy instructions and you can start making money. The commissions range depending on where they're being earning in your organization and at what level you're at in the organization.

Positive Vibes
Beach does get a lof of endorsements from big name celebrities, Demi and Ashton, Stackhouse etc. So it's reasonable to say that the products do work and if someone applies them self they achieve results. The company has come of the best selling fitness programs in America, so the credibility of the company is definitely there. The cost to join the business and maintaining your team status is also reasonable. It works out to approximately $180 per year. You also get discounts on fitness products up to 25%.

The Title Wave :)
While it's a reasonable cost to join the team, maintaining the products and services they offer and paying monthly for those items really does add to the profits the company makes, don't fall victim to up selling yourself for the sake of your own cause. If you're part of the team, you should have all the products right? There are also a ton of celebrities using their products, but their MLM is kept very quiet for some odd reason. One final thing to ponder is the fact that they don't impose any serious fitness training on their team members, this creates a market for a lot of inexperienced fitness pros promoting a product that may not be suitable for someone who has certain health problems.

Final Thoughts...
While the idea of becoming fit and making it a business sounds like a great idea; there are a lot of things to consider before jumping into a business that really does require a hands on approach. The idea is to make the most amount of money in a company that makes the most sense and the company you choose can make a big difference.
