If you are here on this earth, your very aliveness makes you Life itself. It wouldn't be complete Life without you in it. While you're here, it would be the better part of wisdom to figure out our life lessons; what our main purpose is; how much of our understanding should be shared with our buddies, other Lifers. And most importantly, we need to figure out what is the one main passion that drives all the rest.

Discovering Your Purpose

Within your core, is the purpose you have been most drawn to from the beginning. You conjure up desires, and then you think about them. At some point, you feel certain about what you most want. Inside you are a lifetime of all the thoughts you've thought and the feelings you have felt. To discover your purpose, look at how you've traditionally felt about things in your life. When your heart swells up with joy and interest, and you honor your heart-felt sureness, you will be dancing to your own music, and you will be sharing your passion with your fellow man.

If You Aren't Tuned In To Your Feelings

Many of us are following paths in education, or career that were chosen for us by some other, like a parent or a partner. When their dream and your dream aren't synched, you'll really feel uncomfortable in your own skin. Discomfort is a dissonant tune your consciousness plays to say "Hey! You are off track from your own wishes, wants, desires and your true purpose for being here." If you decide to listen to another, your own consciousness will sing that song faster and louder to get your attention. These tunes will have one thing in common: you will be very uncomfortable. You can only become comfortable again by discovering what your purpose is and then go for it. Stop following someone else's music. Your own song, your own CD, your own heart throb: that's the goal.

It May Not Be Easy

A German boy's mother once told him "We can't afford to feed you any more. You'll have to find your own way." He was twelve years old. He'd always wanted to come to America, so with only this dream in his heart, he decided he had nothing left to lose when the door to his ancestral home closed, and he set off to find passage to America and find his life dream. He sailed in the steerage class of a huge ship to America. He was let out weekly onto the deck where he would lean over the rail to comb the lice out of his hair. He became a sidecar motorcycle racer in the United States, an electrician, and a glass blower working for Corning. He raised chickens and cows and planted a garden to help feed and raise his three daughters and three sons. He was a successful man who accomplished his dream. He is the grandfather of my friend.

He took risks to find his purpose in life. He had only his inspiration to lean back into and it served him well. He earned his living from simply being where his dream led him, and he provided a service to his family with his humor, his intelligence, and his considerable skills unfolded through the necessities in his life.

What Limits Your Passion?

When you are doing what you have been sent here to do, you will feel completely satisfied, totally comfortable, highly accomplished, and you will see that others on this earth are benefiting from what you do. Only two things can keep you from discovering your passion:

Doubt and Fear

If you permit doubt or fear in your life, you will be following the advice of others vs. your own; you will be seeking their approval vs. your own; you'll hide out at home vs. stepping out into your own pursuits.

You deserve to live your life according to your own dreams: enjoyment, success, happiness and fine health. Discover what your life lesson is and discover what your purpose for living is. Tune in to your feelings. Look inside of you and listen there for whatever piece of music sings most loudly. Find what you are passionate about and follow your own music.
