MLM Top 25 Review
The main concept behind MLM’s is to keep recruiting into your downline and have them drive your sales, leverage being the bringer of wealth so to speak; otherwise it wouldn’t be called MLM. It would simply be called Direct Marketing. Scent-Sations is a work at home business opportunity or an MLM in short that you need to keep this concept in the forefront of your mind with.
The founders of Scent-Sations are Bob Scocozzo and Charles Umphred, happened to be at a fundraiser together for Bob’s son’s sports team when they spotted these candles. That was back in 2002; apparently, they found a good deal because Scent-Sations is still here today, burning fairly bright like an olympic torch.
In order to base an MLM on one product the product has to be unique in every way, shape and form. Carmen and Lynn Milazzo invented this candle by combining vegetables and other natural ingredients. They found that these candles have a pleasant smell and leave no sooty residue; voila, uniqueness is achieved!

Scent Sations Company Website…
Scent-Sations has a few other products to help you along the way in the form of bar soap, hand soap and a variety of lotions. You also have some additional merchandise to fill your sales kit such as Mia Bella cosmetics line and vehicle air fresheners. Let’s move on to the important part: The Money. (can you smell any yet?)
Scent-Sations is not a complicated product and neither is their compensation plan. It’s based on a three tier system.
1. Retail Sales: This tier is reminiscent of Avon (sorry, I had to say it). You can spread the news through the office, host parties for all your friends and set up displays to show your wares anywhere and everywhere you chose.
2. Fundraisers: you can hit up your local non-profit organization and offer your candles as a fundraising tool. According to Scent-Sations this method works better than you would think and they might be right in the current economic climate.
3. Residual Income: here’s where the downline comes into action; once you get five people to join you in the “Candle of the Month Plan” you can dip your wick into 6 levels of income from the products your recruits order and the business they build beneath you.
But I have to say, I’m not too keen on Scent-Sations’ bonus plans; bonuses are based completely on recruitment. So in other words, they give you credit for recruiting more people but no credit whatsoever for selling the product. That sounds a little strange to me and not a sustainable business model long term. They have also had some issues in the past in accordance with their ability to clarify the difference between their retail and distribution sections of their business. Mmm, maybe you can smell something?
While we’re on the topic of strange, I found a tidbit on their website I wasn’t expecting to find. 51% of their distributors make between $126 and $646. Now why on earth would you put that on your website? Of course they do have the run-of-the-mill testimonials on their site as well but they don’t really need all that much, do they?
I’m starting to have a hard time understanding why Scent-Sations has been around since 2002. I also found a website that gives us the specifics on how Scent-Sations violates the law in regards to pyramid schemes in not just one state but three. That bonus scheme is starting to look a little suspect I guess after all.
Let’s do a recap here to see if this mlm business will have you heading home feeling free and bursting with opportunity or feeling as though you’ve had your fingers burned. Number one, Scent-Sations’ bonus system has absolutely no sales bonuses. Number two, over half of Scent-Sations’ distributors make less than $650. Number three, they have been labelled as pyramid scam. Starting to feel the heat yet?
Maybe…
