LuLin decided to develop a teabag designed for holding loose leaf Chinese tea after they realised that many people wanted the luxury and enjoyment from loose leaf tea but with the comfort and ease felt when using a teabag. And so, Tea Cubed was born.
After a number of different designs were tried and tested, the cube shape came out on top because of its sturdy structure and the volume of tea it can hold while still allowing the leaves space to brew.
The structure of Tea Cubed means that when it is submerged in water it will hold its shape. The shape of the teabag is crucial when brewing whole leaf tea and so this was a major factor in the choice.
The shape determines how much space there is inside the teabag. Standard teabags contain fanning’s or dust from tea and therefore do not need much space to brew but the end results is quite often a low quality cup of tea.
Tea Cubed only contains high quality whole leaf Chinese tea which needs a lot more space to brew than fanning’s and dust. The cube shape is perfect for this as the tea has enough space to move around inside the teabag but the bag also maintains its shape so the tea is given the right amount of space.
Not only is TeaCubed functional for high quality whole leaf tea but it is also a very aesthetically pleasing teabag.
Each flavour (of which they offer 8 different), comes in a box of 8 tea cubes of 3g each. The box is enclosed in a cardboard sleeve with all the tea information on it which is removed to reveal an attractive simple box which opens up to contain the 8 tea cubes.
Tea Cubed is available in 8 flavours; Long Jing Green Tea, Jasmine Dragon Pearls, Keemun Breakfast, Lapsang Souchong, Fujian Oolong, Ginseng Oolong, Puerh and Puerh with Lavender.
The size of the cube means that it is ideal for use in a teapot. Because such a high quality of tea is used in each cube, it can be reused 3 times. So you can basically use the same teabag all day! How many others can you do this with?
