Why do you require your web site on Google page 1...YOU DON'T!
Yes, you do need to be on Page 1, but you don't have to go through the pain, suffering, time, and COST of internet site SEO. There is no reason for it.
OK...now that I have your attention...and the ire of every SEO guru out there, I will lay it out for you. Two words.
Online Video.
I just created a 'slideshow' video for a local pet resort. I submitted it to 20+ video internet sites, using Video Wildfire video submission software, and, 48 hours later, the pet resort has over 15 Page 1 listings, under assorted keyword phrases, several in Position #1, with several thumbnail images also on Page 1.
I can have multiple listings for a business organization, on Google page 1 within 48 hours, for a local search, by using online video. What else do you need?
The whole point in being on Page 1 is to be noticed. 90% of searchers don't look past page 2. If your business is not on page 1 or 2, you don't exist.
People are looking for one thing: SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEMS. That's it...class dismissed. That's Marketing 101 in 3 words. SOLVE MY PROBLEM!
You don't need a 35-page site to solve my problem...I'm not going to take the time to read it all anyway. Let's consider a full page ad in the telephone book as an illustration.
These ads are normally composed of a big picture, or graphic, some text, and a Huge phone number. They are planned to do one thing: get your attention, and tell you how they will solve your problem. No e-mail addresses of the board of directors; no story of the company; just the implied message, "We Can Help You!", and the contact info.
In my geographical area, companies will pay $10-$12,000 per year for those ads. In the bigger metropolitan areas, that rate can top $20,000 per year. They must be effective, in order for the company to at least bring in enough business to recover the price. If a simple, two-color, piece of paper can motivate customers to call you, then why would you need a 25-page web site?
.
The Internet should be the greatest source of NEW business...but most companies use their website as a footnote...something to put on a business card, or print ad. And, because of the low cost, companies feel compelled to put every scrap of info about the business on the site. Kind of a, 'Show up & Throw up' reaction.
When you contact a business, do you ask about the history of the company, do you want to know the email addresses of the entire Board of Directors? Of course not. You're there for one reason: You want them to 'SOLVE MY PROBLEM!'
Initially, people are only looking for a SOLUTION to their PROBLEM. An online video can get your solution on Google's page 1 faster, and for a lot less cost than trying to get your web site on Page 1. If someone wants to read further, you provide your web site address on the video. Here's a radical idea: I can duplicate your full page phone book ad, submit it as a video to 20+ sites, and get it ranked on Google's Page 1 within 48 hours. And, for a lot less than $10,000!
