With unfair of some bidders, you must develop a sniper mentality to win a coveted item. To protect against snipers and keeping with eBay rules, here are few options:
1. Keep a close eye on the item.
2. Note the date and the time the auction ends and log back in 30 minutes before that time. This is a problem if the finishing time is during work or school hours.
3. Show that you are active by placing one or more bids at that time.
4. Make sure you are not outbid, showing your genuine interest in the product.
5. Since you will have been logged in for more than 30 minutes, any last second bid you have will not be considered sniping.
According to the rules of eBay, it is only a deliberate snipe if you log in a few minutes before the end of the auction and place a bid in the very last seconds. Sniping, whether manually or with the use of bid sniper, can make you win a coveted item.
Bear in mind however that it is not very ethical to win via sniping since the other bidders will not have a chance against software or service versions. Or eBay might suspend your account in the near future.
