How often are you vulnerable to hypnosis?
Well - much more often than you think! "Now while you look at my watch, you start to notice how weight of your eyelids is starting to get higher and higher ..."
It is the most common imagination associated with the word "hypnosis". While in some cases majority is wrong, this time it's right. One of the steps in process of hypnotizing, is brain relaxation. We do it because it greatly increases receptivity of brain for suggestions. Although it produces a lot of controversy, hypnosis is well known and had been used for thousands of years, I think it proves its effectiveness.
I will leave all the clock and counting from 10 to 1 stuff to other people and I will expand on something much more interesting. I would like to say a few words about hypnotic language of persuasion. I don't think you would like to make your prospects fall asleep during business meeting. By hypnotic language, I mean words and sentences, which are irresistible. Text, which grabs you by your eyeballs and makes you more and more interested with every paragraph you read, speech which makes your suggestions irresistible to your listeners. The effect you will achieve is not only grabbing their attention but also persuading them to do whatever you like.
I hope this makes sense to you and you would want to be able to do this rather than make your clients fall asleep.
I am 100% sure that at least once in your lifetime you have stumbled upon a text or a person that was so interesting you are unable to stop reading or listening Have you ever lose your sense of time? You were so drawn into this activity that even if someone would say something to you, you would be unable to recall it? You were so absorbed by reading or listening, that everything else didn’t matter?
A good book can hypnotize you. Interesting story can hypnotize you.
Now I would like you to recall a time when you have been put into the trance by advertisement. Hmm, you still have no example? Don't worry it's because majority of advertisements aren't even remotely interesting.
But try to picture how exciting it would be to be able to hypnotize others just by using your words. And even more, you would have the power to make them act the way you want them to.
But I guess you don't need it, don't you? It would make no sense in selling, politics or negotiations. Who needs it!?
The hypnotic trance is inseparable part of our everyday life, although most people are not aware of it. Whenever you travel in your mind somewhere far, far away and stop to notice what is happening around you - you are in a trance! Or when you are reading something fascinating and you just can not break - you are also in a trance.
What about group hypnosis? Are politicians hypnotizing us? I wouldn't like to make you nervous, but numerous studies show it is much easier to control people in group gatherings.
However the issue of conformity is not enough to excuse group behavior. We can do many things we would never do alone under the influence of others, it is absolutely normal behavior that has roots in human evolution. I would like to ask you a simple question: "have you ever modified your decision, under the pressure of other people?
Hypnosis is all around us, we are hypnotized by movies, newspapers, music, we even hypnotize ourselves. This process takes place no matter if you like it or not.
I know there are probably hundreds of thoughts rushing through your head right now, but wonder for a moment can you benefit from this phenomenon? Perhaps here lies a potential, a possibility?
Do you start to realize how you can easily turn resistant customers to hottest fans of your product/service who are eager to make a purchase?
