Dr. Sandhya Shetty, practicing homeopath, gives details on the qualifications necessary to forge a career in this field, “A good percentage in the 12th standard can get you admission to any good homeopathy college for the degree of B.H.M.S (Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery). The course is for 5 and 1/2 years and includes one year internship after which you can study further for an MD or work.” The courses are offered by many universities around India as also by homeopathy councils.


Avenues of work


A homeopathy graduate can take up jobs in government or private homoeopathic hospitals or start an own clinic. Alternatively she can work under a senior homeopath to gain experience and hone up knowledge or even become a lecturer at a homeopathic medical college.
