Larnaca is a fantastic city that can be found on the south coast of Cyprus and has a population of 72,000. The main airport is Larnaca International which is located on the outskirts of the city (as most airports are).

Larnaca is famous for its picturesque seafront which is surrounded by many palm trees and this makes the seafront a great place to relax and forget about the cold and wintry of the UK. With a number of festivals covering a range of themes there is something for everybody. These festivals also play a big role in the lifestyle of Larnaca.

During the summer months, the weather is particularly nice which means beaches such as the McKenzie Beach (which has been awarded the blue flag for cleanliness) is a very popular place to kick back and relax. There are also a wide range of restaurants, cafes and bars that accommodate for all tastes whether you want to try some traditional Cypriot food or play safe with some food from the local Irish bars.

Whereas many holidaymakers like to travel abroad to relax, many go abroad to experience a different culture and Larnaca has plenty to offer. The ruins of Ancient Kitium, the remains of the Cyclopean wall are amongst the most popular places to visit and offer a good insight into the culture of the city.

As well as the ancient sites, there are also a mix of theatres and museums to admire. The museums are mainly based on fine arts with the theatres offering a range of shows to suit all goers. The music scene in the city is as diverse as the rest of its culture, a range of music from marching parade to Latin music, to traditional Greek music to rock and roll.

Larnaca is a great place to visit and with a wide range of activities available, coupled with the fantastic places to relax, make the city the ideal holiday location.
