If you are advertising online with Google PPC, there is no doubt you have experienced or witnessed the dreaded "Slap" that is going on with certain home business ads. If this is you, what are you going to do if you get cut off from your favorite paid strategy?
In steps my favorite MLM lead generation paid strategy, banner ads! You might be thinking, those things are old school and they don't work. On the contrary my friend, I am generating between 5-10 lazer targeted leads per day. I am going to let you in on the secrets that I use to generate these leads with banner ads.
Keyword research is key to any kind of advertising, but much more important here to get the right leads. The way we will use keywords that we are going after is to search for them online and see what kind of sites we get returned. Once we have identified some sites that match our market, we will proceed to find out how to advertise on them. If they don't have a place to advertise on their site, they are probably hooked in with a media buying company such as, BuySellAds, BlogAds, etc.
When you are looking through the sites that came back from your keyword search, be sure to pay close attention to the demographics of the users on those sites. The worst thing you could do is advertise your biz op on a site for Teeny Boppers. A couple of great tools for beginning your demographics research are Quantcast and Alexa. These sites both have demo sections that will get you pretty close to the actual site make up.
We know our target market and what they are searching, why don't we get our banners. If you are representing an MLM or affiliate, they will probably already have stock banners. If they don't you can make some yourself in Photoshop or have an outsourcer handle them for you. You can get some really good banners for a couple of hundred dollars or less. Usually, I will make my own or get them made because I know that everyone else that has access to the stock banners will be using them. I like to stand out from the crowd for some reason.
Now comes the great part for those PPC guys out there. When placing banner ads, you can choose to either pay per click (familiar, huh) or by cost per mille (CPM). The even better news is that a lot of PPC guys are used to paying 2-3 bucks per click where, with banners, you can often get clicks for less than $1. The double better news is that the CPM method gets even cheaper. With CPM, you are paying per thousand impressions on the website you are advertising. It isn't uncommon to get CPMs for under 75 cents and you will often find that you get a couple clicks CPM, which makes your CPC (cost per click) around 38 cents.
Finally, you will have to determine if your ad will link directly to your offer/ affiliate page or a landing page. Well how do you know which way you should go? A good rule of thumb is anything over $50 should be directed to a landing page in order to sell the prospects prior to getting to the primary offer. If you don't send them to a landing page, you will more than likely see a pretty dramatic decrease in conversions.
I realize that banner ads may not be the buzz and as sexy as PPC, but they provide as good of leads for less money. Whether you choose to use banners or not, just be aware that they are available as an alternative if something were to happen with your Oogle PPC. Just be sure you keep your MLM leads coming and your business growing.
