Levin is a lovely and peaceful town that sits in New Zealand's North Island, distanced for approximately 1 hour 45 minutes easy drive from Wellington. Waitarere Beach is wide and sandy gray. Aside from swimming its both a fishing and a surfing body, you could catch a Kahawai, Snapper, Groper, Gurnard, Flounder and or a Sole. The beach is guarded by a forest that is worth your tracks. Hokio Beach is located south of Waitarere (not too far) why not explore both. Although Waitarere has the sense of accommodation facilities, making it an ideal beach on this way to stay for the night or a couple of nights.
