The Hamarikyu Gardens are large and meticulously landscaped and built to be a feast for the senses. The park is in the middle of a seawater moat which is filled by the tide, and surrounds the Shiori Pond, which has a garden in it, as well – an island within an island, where you will be served Japanese sweets and matcha in the time honored traditional tea ceremony of Japan that has been much written about.

The Hamarikyu Gardens became a garden park open to the public only on April 1, 1946. Till then, it was a part of the Shogun Tokugawa family’s estate. Now, Japanese goshawk and falcon exhibitions can be witnessed in the park. It is like stepping back in time to watch the traditional hunting techniques the experts demonstrate. The Hamarikyu Gardens are extremely large – 250,165 square meters - and divided into two distinct areas, the Daimyo Garden in the south and the north garden.

A walk in these gardens brings a visitor to witness the beautiful plum blossoms, the golden leaves of the trees. During the fall season many Japanese ladies can be seen walking around in the traditional costume, the kimono, making the trip seem like a journey back in time.

The Hamarikyu Gardens have been declared to be both the Special Place of Scenic Beauty and the Special Historic Site, which makes it completely protected by the Japanese Law. Even without those official declarations, Hamarikyu Gardens would be one of the most beautiful places in Japan, maybe the world.

Besides the Hamarikyu Gardens, Tokyo has a lot to offer to travelers. There are many other attraction and destinations to please travelers. There are also a myriad of Tokyo serviced apartments that provide comfort and convenience with modern amenities and facilities. Most of these Tokyo serviced residences are situated in the city centre providing easy access to many tourist attractions and destinations.
