It's a sad fact but most hair loss treatments don't work. There are some that do but the jury is out on many of them basically because most of them are no better than snake oil or a placebo.
The reason I'm so sceptical is that if there was a truly proven hair loss product then there would be no bald men or women and the company or individual who invented it would be the richest man or women alive in the planet. I mean it would literally be the holy grail of cures!
OK facetiousness aside - There are some reasons why there isn't a 'one fits all cure'. It's because as people we all have different reasons for balding which can range from genetic causes to psychological problems related to compulsive disorders i.e kids pulling their hair out - quite literally.
Additionally it can be because of ill health i.e. cancer. It can even be down to what you eat and allergies. So to assume that you can get medication that's like a magic bullet is unreasonable.
There are some compounds in recent years that seem to be able to tackle hair loss head on (pardon the pun) that at least start to slow down the hair loss especially as far as men are concerned and even reverse it and these products are proving to be very highly effective in treating female hair loss which is sadly very common today and causing a lot of mental and emotional angst.
The treatments that do seem to be working are ironically those that seem to have been discovered by accident by pharmaceutical companies that were looking for other cures like Rogaine and Minoxidil which also happen to FDA approved for hair loss treatment!
These seem to work and in some cases too well as in the case of one of these products which was developed for high blood pressure the manufacturer had to warn users of the possible side effect of hair growth ! Wow! talk about serendipity!
Anyways you should always consult your doctor first if you think something major is wrong and if not try and examine what might be causing it and that way you should then be able to pin point the best solution to treat your hair loss effectively
