Men in the UK are no less sensitive to hair loss than in any other part of the world. In some research says that men in the UK are more aware of their appearance than their US counterparts - whether or not that is fully true is up for debate!
The fact is hair loss is hair loss and whether you are a man or a women in the UK the pain is still the same. Oh by the way there is some statistical evidence to show that female baldness in the UK is 40% more than in the US per person- I wonder why?
Anyway that is beyond the scope of this article. It's what treatment is available in the UK and how good or bad is it? It seems that we are behind the rest of the world. the Italians and the US markets seem to have a better handle on this.
The market in the US is filled with natural products that are just pure rubbish but they do seem to have a few goodies there. It's probably because some sectors there are less regulated than in the UK so there is more choice than in the UK. This means that there are a few that will pop up their head (pardon the pun) and have some positive effect. The main ingredient that seems to be of natural origin is a compound called Saw palmetto - I believe it comes from some type of seed from a cactus like flower that grows in the arid areas of the States. So as a staring point if natural is the way you want to go look for products that have that in them.
OK, there are also some 'half way house' products available in the UK. that is products which have natural products like the saw palmetto and one or two drugs. The most popular one seems to provillus.
There are other treatments that are popular in the US and are sold here one is Propecia but be warned this is not for women - it says so in the health warnings -so it must be pretty powerful stuff!
