The Prague Exhibition Grounds, which was originally constructed in 1891 for the Jubilee Exhibition, has now become a popular venue for exhibitions, trade fairs, cultural, sports, and social events. The Mathew fair, an annual event organised in spring, is one of the popular events organised in Prague Exhibition Ground. Annually the venue also holds events such as the Golf World Prague, World of Beauty & Spa and the Marathon Sports Expo. There are shows almost on a weekly basis at the venue and as the Czech Republic’s main exhibition and conference venue, this is the centre for most international level exhibitions in the country.

The Prague Exhibition Ground has a rich history, during the course of which it has been renovated, reconstructed, and extended several times. The Industrial Palace is the centrepiece of the venue, and is favoured by the organisers of exhibitions and fairs. This building, which is constructed in the Art Nouveau style, comprises a couple of wings and a clock tower.

The Krizik Fountain in the venue, which is enclosed by four state-of-the-art pavilions, enhances the light effects for classical music concerts. The Lapidary of the National Museum, where a collection of 400 sculptures are exhibited, is located at the entrance of the Prague Exhibition Grounds.

The Pyramid, a 40-meter high building, provides a pavilion for theatre performances and exhibitions and is located in the lower parts of the exhibition ground. The T-mobile Arena, a large multi-purpose area, has been customized for the organisation of events such as musical concerts, fashion shows and ice-hockey matches. The directorate of the Prague Exhibition Grounds co-ordinates and provides services related to all exhibition and trade fair activities such as installing of stands, advertising, interpretation, translation and secretarial services. The venue, which occupies an area of 20,000 square meters, includes attractive structures such as a winter sports stadium, an amusement park, and a swimming pool. Visitors can easily access this venue via tram service.

Many regulars on the exhibition circuit enjoy attending Prague, with its mix of history, culture, affordability and excellent transportation system. Getting to and from the Exhibition Grounds is hassle free and finding a good restaurant or bar at the end of the day is equally straight forward at the venue or in the city of Prague itself. If you have the opportunity be sure also to spend a bit of time in Karlovy Vary and to take a boat cruise on the Vltava River.
