Here is a well kept secret that not many people are aware of. You can buy a car or other vehicle for $300 simply by attending local Police Auctions.

It works like this! At many government and police auctions if a vehicle isn't purchased during the bidding session, then it will be put up for sale directly after the auction has ended at the set price of $300 (the additional $39 I'll discuss later). That is because the vehicles left over at the auction will need to be stored and the police arn't interested in that overhead.

While I was looking through vehicle listings at my preferred government auction site, I discovered that a number of cars were posted with the following: 'Should this car not be sold, it can be purchased after auction for $300.'

I telephoned numerous auction sites to get more information. Due to the current tough financial times, vehicles selling for $300 at these auctions have been on the rise. As a matter of fact at many of the auctions, there were more cars then buyers to purchase them. Generally this is a result of the car dealerships being overstocked and not being in a position to increase inventory. I was informed that most of the cars are in good to very good condition.

The remaining $39 I mentioned is for a Government Auctions membership which will provide detailed info on all local auctions and vehicles at each. It is definately worth it though, because everything is included on one site, and you can find things like automobile parts, office supplies, electronic devices, real estate, and lots more for very little money.

After you have identified vehicle auctions you can attend, arrive earlier then the advertised time to inspect vehicles, consider which vehicles meet your criteria, offer a bid, or even better, purchase cars and trucks that weren't sold during the auction for $300 a vehicle (individual auctions could have marginally different regulations, so call before attending).

Goverment and Police Car Auctions has free information for those interested in participating in vehicle auctions. You can a wied array of vehicles, even at $300! I know because I purchased 3 cars, 2 of which I sold to raise the funds for the 3rd car, a 98 Beemer, that I drive today.
