From time immemorial, India has been blessed by the contributions of several people . These people has enlightened India since its birth. All of them has contributed their valuable inputs to India society during various eras.

These brigade of genius and avant-garde people has helped India to grow as one of the super powers of modern world. Not only in economic sector, they had contributed their precious knowledge and experience in other sectors like social and cultural development of the country.

Here are some famous people of India:

Mughal Emperor Akbar: Akbar the great is one of the prominent person of Indian history. This Mughal Emperor is described as the star of Mughal empire. He has reigned over the country from 1556 A.D to 1605 A.D and extended his empire as far to the west as Afghanistan, and as far south as the Godavari river. Akbar was a phenomenon person who has tried to tie each and every citizen of our country in one single thread of Indianness. Under his reign, Mughal architectural style has earned a definite movement.

Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan: Shah Jahan was the fifth most prolific Mughal emperor in Indian history. Son of Jahangir and grandson of Akbar, Shah Jahan became the emperor Mughal dynasty in the year 1627. He has created some outstanding architectural masterpieces during his 30 years of reign such as Taj Mahal and many more. Taj Mahal is considered among one of the “Seven wonders of modern world”. He had constructed this monument in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal.

Mahatma Gandhi: Famous as “Father of the nation”, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi aka Mahatma Gandhi was born on 2nd October 1869, in the town of Porbandar, Gujrat. He was emerged as national leader and has successfully led the countrymen to make India a free nation. He started non-violence movements like Satyagraha, Swadeshi Andolan etc. He has also initiated movements for the rights of lower class Hindus and people of other communities. On Jan 30, 1948, Mahatma Gandhi took his last breath.

Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru: Lovingly called as “Chacha Nehru”, Late Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru was the first Prime Minister of India and served this post until his death. Born on 14 November, 1889 in Allahabad, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru was a famous National leader of our country. He has successfully carried out five years plan to make India a self dependent country. He has also pursued policy of peaceful coexistence with the neighboring countries.

Beside them India history is blessed with several other special personalities like Rabindranath Tagore, Mother Terasa, Amitabh Bachchan, Swami Vivekanda belong to various fields.
